Road to SEMA Part II 5.7 Hemi Style
10/15/06
YIKES! I agreed to put together another JK for SEMA. This one is a 2 door that will
have a 5.7 hemi installed along with a small lift and 35” tires. I might do some
other things to it as time permits but we will wait and see. I will try to post
every day as progress permits right up to heading to Vegas. This will be fun.

The 5.7 project is moving along. The jeep is all torn apart and the 5.7 is being
fitted into the engine bay. This motor does not fit as good as the 6.1 does. We
have some interference with some of the accessories on the stock 5.7 so instead
we will run a hybrid mix of 5.7, 3.8 and 6.1 accessories to make this fit right.
More updates coming soon.

We got the 5.7 hemi done on Friday 2 hours before we had to leave for Vegas. The
engine swap turned out great, we now have plenty of power to turn the 35" DC Mud
Country 2's. I found a K&N FIPK that was a perfect fit for this swap. This Jeep
has a 3" RE longarm lift. We also installed the Mastercraft Baja RS reclining seats
and I had Justtens Auto Upholstery recover the factory rear seat to match the fronts.
A full mandrel bent stainless exhaust was put in using 3" tubing and high flow Magnaflow
Spun Cat converters.

This is the 5.7 hemi in the Mastercraft booth at SEMA. The booth was in a great
location and garnered lots of attention. The Mastercraft seats were an easy install
and mounted with no adapters. Thanks again to the Mastercraft guys for letting me
display in their booth. I managed to book 5 more motorswap jobs while I was at the
show.
