SEMA 2011 Day 2 – whats the news?
The news for today is that just like we thought, BOR is the only exhibitor to have a fully functional 2012 hemi JK using the new for JK WA580 5 speed automatic transmission. Why is this? The reason for this is the programming advantage that BOR has had since 2006 when we invented the JK hemi conversion. We have always been at least 2 years ahead of the competition in all areas of hemi JK technology. The competition still cannot program a 2011 properly. Ask them how their cruise control works, ask them how their MDS works, ask them how their transmission shifts and you will see that BOR is the only logical choice. If you are spending $20,000 on your JK for a hemi conversion why not get it right the first time.
The 2012 JK automatic has changed to using the tried and proven Wa580 5 speed automatic transmission. Originally designed by Mercedes this transmission has proven itself to be durable and a joy to drive. I have run close to 1000 horsepower through one of these transmissions with no ill effects. The WA580 trans in the JK is a lighter duty version and needs to have all its clutches beefed up to the appropriate number to handle whatever hemi you are putting in. this is done as part of our conversion. This transmission coupled to a 392 vvt would be the ultimate sleeper JK for someone that wanted to embarrass a Mustang or Camaro at the stoplight. I have done it several times. BOR has completed several 2012 automatics and we can build yours right now– we have the programming and no one else does. Give us a call.
